Light Sport:
Achieve your dream of learning to fly
— in half the time.
With Light Sport Training, you can earn a certification to pilot Light Sport Aircraft in far less time than it takes to complete a traditional private pilot license. Plus, every hour that you spend flying a Light Sport Aircraft will transfer over to your FAA pilot certification, if you decide to pursue that later. You’ll only need a drivers license to get started.
Spirit Aviation offers light sport training for our customers in the CSRA, Augusta, Thomson and Reynolds Plantation/Lake Oconee Resort areas. We have dedicated instructors who are on site and ready to work with you. All you need is a driver’s license to get started.

Your Plane Awaits
Introducing the Cessna 162 Skycatcher.
Spirit Aviation offers Light Sport Training in the sporty new Cessna 162 Skycatcher. It’s an easy to fly, easy to learn plane that features a Garmin 300 glass panel cockpit. Plus, you’ll learn on a control stick
instead of the standard yoke—which makes it easier to get started. And because the Skycatcher is easy to get in and features a gull-wing door design, it feels light and nimble. You’re going to love flying this new bird.
